A Home, away from Home!
For anyone who lives away from their home and their family, every festival brings with it a little feeling of missing home and family.
VNIT, admits students from all states of India as well as different parts of the world. Some of these students, due to various reasons, cannot go home during the Diwali. In order to alleviate their home sickness feeling, VNIT administration and VNIT alumni association organized a Diwali Milan on Wednesday, 7th November, morning. Director P. M. Padole, along with the Deans, hostel wardens, other faculty members and office bearers & members of VNIT alumni association, went to the hostel. They spent time with the students interacting with them, extending Diwali greetings. Dr.P.M.Padole, guided to students on this auspicious occasion. He stressed on the eco-friendly and environment friendly diwali celebration. He also elaborated the importance of Dipawali in the Indian culture with various examples. Students were happy and expressed their gratitude towards VNIT administration for this celebration. VNIT also distributed sweets to the students.
On Thursday, 8th November, 6 VNIT Alumni, Mr. Shashikant Chaudhary, Mr.Uday & Mrs. Salila Kamat, Dr. Dilip Peshwe, Dr. Ajay Likhite, Mr. Pramod Pampatwar and Mr. Joginder Singh Sond got together, to host a batch of 10 students each, on behalf of the VNIT Alumni Association. The alumni took these students with them to their homes where they each hosted a lunch accompanied with some much needed gup-shup. It was a perfect Diwali afternoon.
