Dr. M.D. Goel received recognition as “DAAD Research Ambassador” from DAAD, Germany.
In the recent meeting held in New Delhi on 21st September 2018, Assistant Professor of Department of Applied Mechanics, Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), Nagpur, Dr. Manmohan Dass Goel, was felicitated with DAAD Research Ambassador for a period of four years by the Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany Dr. Jasper Wieck.
DAAD i.e. Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (German Academic Exchange Service) is headquartered in Bonn, Germany. It is the largest funding organization and it provides an international academic/scientific co-operation platform for students and researchers at various levels of their career. Since it was founded, more than two million scholars in Germany and abroad have received DAAD funding. Dr. Goel had also been recipient of DAAD Fellowship and Young Ambassador Award in the past from the DAAD, Germany. He is also the receipt of CSIR-Young Scientist Award 2014 in Engineering Science. Normally, academicians and scientists who have a long-standing relationship with Germany are nominated as research ambassadors, who would help to enthuse and inform others about the variety of opportunities like educational scholarships, research funding and collaborative projects with German counterparts.
