As you are aware, the Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology ( VNIT), Nagpur has played a significant role in providing technical manpower and know how to the country and in the pursuit of research since its establishment in the year 1960 as the erstwhile Visvesvaraya Regional College of Engineering ( VRCE), Nagpur. VNIT ranks among the best technological institutions in the country and has contributed to all sectors of technological development.
The Institute offers strong and comprehensive bachelors degree courses in 8 disciplines in engineering viz civil, chemical, electrical and electronics, mechanical, metallurgical and materials, electronics and communication, computer science & engg. and mining besides architecture and 12 post graduate degree courses in engineering which include environmental engg., water resources engg. integrated power systems, VLSI, comp. sci. engg., CAD-CAM, structural engg., structural dynamics & earthquake engg., industrial engg., heat power engg., and ferrous process metallurgy & materials engg.. Various courses have been accredited recently in 2009 by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi. The Institute has facilities for doctoral research in various departments. The Institute admits students to B.Tech. courses through an All India Engineering Entrance Examination ( AIEEE) conducted all over India.
