Industry Institute Interaction Cell
The industry institute interaction cell strives to promote and nurture close interaction with the industrial sector and to play a positive role in its growth. The cell’s activities are aimed at more effectively utilizing the manpower and other resources available at the Institute, with the assistance of participating industries, for satisfying the techno-industrial needs of the industries in this region in particular and improving the quality of professional training of VNIT students in general.
The Cell has introduced the Industry Associate ship Scheme wherein the member industries derive benefits such as library facility, concession in testing and consultancy fee, preferential access to guest lectures, students projects in industries etc. This cell organizes Skill cum Technology Up gradation programmes on various engineering / technical / management topics exclusively for small –scale industries. These programmes are supported by Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), Nagpur.
Some of the STUPs recently organized include Quality Management, Maintenance Management, Marketing Management, Failure Analysis of Engineering Materials, Prelude to E-business, Welding processes and metallurgy. Three Industrial exhibitions were also organized by the College in 1994, 1995 and 2000 and the response was extremely encouraging. Various other activities of the cell are as follows

Objectives
The overall objectives of Industry Institute Interaction are envisaged as under :

| To evolve educational programmes which are consistent with the broad requirements of the industry and which can produce engineering personnel capable of coping with the accelerating pace of the technological development. |

| To create adequate facilities of updating knowledge of professional engineers and technologists to meet the growth and developmental needs of the industry. | |

| To coordinate joint research and development programme between industries and the institute. | |

| To Make spare capacities of the sophisticated testing equipments available to the industries on cost basic. | |

| To candidate industrial consultancy arraignment through Dean R&D and the concerned members of the faculty. | |
