Non-formal Sanskrit Centre Education at VNIT Nagpur on 27th November’2019


Prize distribution Ceremony of the non-formal Sanskrit Education Centre at VNIT Nagpur was held on November 27, 2019 in the presence of Prof. Shrinivas Varkhedi, Vice Chancellor, KKSU Ramtek. Prizes and certificates were awarded to the participants who have successfully completed this non formal course from August 2018 to April 2019. A non formal course is organized annually from August to April next year, for the faculty and staff of VNIT

The Non-formal Sanskrit Education Centre at VNIT Nagpur is operated under the initiation of Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthanam, MHRD, GoI, with the objective to provide knowledge of Sanskrit and its utilisation to explore the rich technical details available in ancient Indian  literature.

Speaking on this occasion, Shri Vishramji Jamdar, Chairman  appreciated the successful conduction of the Non-formal Sanskrit Course and its outcome for the Professors, Scholars and Students during last two years. Prof. P.M. Padole, Director VNIT presided over the function. While appreciating the outcome of this course, Prof. Padole said that from the next semester Sanskrit together with German and French, will also be offered as an Open Elective Course to all the students of VNIT. Prof. Mohan Khedkar, coordinator of the course, said that Sanskrit should be brought in formal way in education so that the students will understand what our ancestors have done for us. Instead of having faith in west, better to have faith in us and be the role model for the entire world. Dr. Varkhedi elaborated the importance of Sanskrit for all. He appreciated the efforts taken by VNIT for spreading Sanskrit among masses.

Dr. Kalyani Kale discussed the effectiveness of the Sanskrit and explained how the attendees started from elementary level of speaking to fluency and understanding the technical terms in-scripted in ancient text.  Dr. Madhukar Basole, instituted the prize for the Sanskrit Prathama Diksha Course which was awarded to Mrunal M. Khedkar. Dr. M. A. Chaudhari HoD Electrical, received the first prize in Dwitiya Diksha course and also proposed vote of thanks.
