VNIT ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR IN CHEMICAL ENGINEERING, Dr. SHRIRAM SONAWANE RECEIVED FELLOW AWARD FROM PRESTIGIOUS MAHARASHTRA ACADEMY OF SCIENCE IN ENGINEERING FIELD.
Dr. Shriram Sonawane, Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering, received the prestigious fellow award given by the “Maharashtra Academy of Science”. The award was presented to him on 14th Dec 2019 in a special ceremony held at Pune, Maharashtra. Annually, this award is presented to eminent personalities for their remarkable contribution to science and technology.
The Maharashtra Academy of Sciences (MAS) is the premier scientific learned society of the state of Maharashtra. It was established in 1976 with the specific aim to highlight the scientific and technological issues confronting the state, and to recommend appropriate steps necessary to be under taken by the concerned authorities for the promotion of science and technology.
Dr. Sonawane is currently working on research projects sponsored by Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. Dr. Sonawane is also working on many Intra-governmental projects like India-Tunisia, India-Australia, India-Malaysia and India-Russia projects.His emphasis on betterment of society through his research made him worthy for this award.
He has number of research papers and one patent to his credit. His areas of research include Chemical Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Polymers, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Nanotechnology, Nanofluids, Nano separations etc.
