Dr. Atul V Wankhade, Associate Professor at Department of Chemistry, Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), Nagpur, India (Institute of National Importance). He obtained his Ph.D. Degree in Chemistry from RTM Nagpur University, Nagpur, India in 2014. Before joining VNIT, he worked at the SMM College of Science, Nagpur, as assistant Professor (2003 - 2009). He is a Joint Secretary (National Body) of Indian Society of Analytical Scientists (ISAS). Four students have completed their Ph.D. under his mentorship, while four others are currently pursuing their doctoral research. Additionally, he has supervised 16 postgraduate projects to completion, with 02 more postgraduate projects underway. His current research interest is development of Novel Nanomaterials, Nanomaterials with tunable morphologies and Nanocomposites for varieties of Energy and Environmental applications. He has about 50 SCI publications, 01 book chapter, 01 patents (FER defended) to his credit. (h- index: 15 and i10- index 22) |

Ø Nanocatalysis for organic transformation Ø Nanomaterial for Energy and Environment (Hydrogen generation by photocatalytic Water Splitting) Research Objective: Our research group aims to develop novel nanomaterials/ nanocomposites for Energy and Environmental applications. To introduce an innovative and sustainable technology for harnessing solar energy and wastewater treatment processes by exploiting the efficiency of these nanomaterials as catalysts or photocatalysts. Exploring nanomaterials/ nanocomposites for a wide range of applications like photocatalytic water splitting under UV/Visible irradiation, photo-activation of PS/PMS, catalyzing Organic transformations, Antibacterial activity and scanning them for UV/Visible light-responsive photocatalytic activity for the degradation of emerging organic pollutants using simulated wastewater containing both anionic and cationic organic dyes. Developing nanoenzymes for Biomimetic applications. |

1 | Indian Society of Analytical Scientists (ISAS) in Collabration with Department of Chemistry, VNIT, Nagpur and JNARDDC had organized an “International Analytical Science Congress” (IASC 2024) from 22 to 24 February. Theme of the conference was “Analytical Sciences and Technologies: Futuristic Trends for Energy, Environment, and Sustainable Development”.
