Instructions to Degree Recipients for Attending Convocation

1. Confirmation of Registration
Ensure that your registration for the convocation is confirmed by the institute via the link provided above (Attending Status – Yes).

2. Dress Code

Boys: White Kurta and Pyjama
Girls: White Kurta and Salwar/Saree

3. Collection of Scarfs

Scarfs will be available for collection in the respective departments on 14^th September 2024, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Please make sure to collect your scarf during this time, as it will not be distributed on the day of the convocation.

4. Parking Instructions

The area near the auditorium will be restricted for visitor vehicles. Please follow the directions of volunteers/security personnel for parking.

5. Seating and Timing

Degree recipients must be seated before 8:30 AM.
Late entries will not be permitted under any circumstances, including travel delays.
Once inside, degree recipients must remain seated until the ceremony concludes. Please plan your travel accordingly.

6. Auditorium Entry

Enter the auditorium through the main entrance near the old gym.

7. Mobile Phones and Cameras

Mobile phones and cameras are not allowed inside the auditorium. Please arrange for their safe storage prior to entering.

8. Program Schedule
The program is approximately 3 hours long, starting at 8:30 AM. The sequence is as follows:

Academic procession enters
Report by Director, VNIT
Convocation address by Chairman, BoG
Convocation address by the Chief Guest
Awarding of degrees (PhD/PG, followed by UG)
Awarding of medals and prizes
Oath by all recipients, led by the Visvesvaraya Gold Medal recipient
Vote of thanks
National Anthem
Academic procession exits

9. Post-Program Arrangements

Snack boxes will be provided to all degree recipients after the program, upon presenting a food coupon. Venue details will be announced at the end of the ceremony.

10. Seating for Parents

Parents are not permitted inside the auditorium during the ceremony. Separate arrangements have been made for them (link provided above).

11. Maintaining Decorum

Degree recipients are expected to uphold the solemnity and dignity of the event by adhering to the norms of decorum and discipline throughout the ceremony.

12. Convocation Etiquette Video

Please watch the short video demonstrating the proper etiquette for receiving your degree/award. Ensure that you follow the instructions thoroughly (link provided above).

13. Mandatory Rehearsal

Attendance at the rehearsal is highly recommended. It will take place on 14 September 2024 at o3:30 PM in the auditorium. This will help ensure a smooth and orderly ceremony.
