Dr Sachin Mandavgane is a Professor and former head of Chemical Engineering Department at the Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur. He obtained his B Tech ME and PhD from Laxminarayan Institute of Technology. Dr Sachin is a Chairman Board of Governance, Govt College of Engg Amravati. He is academic council member of BATU Lonere and SGGSIET Nanded. He was Governor\u2019s nominee to Maharashtra\u2019s Open University YCMOU Nasik. His research specialization is biomass and waste utilization, bio refinery, sustainable engineering and scientific validation of traditional sciences. He is the author of around 130 publications with 4800+ citations and h-index 33. He has produced 10 PhDs and has 12 patents in his name. Dr Sachin has handled R&D projects worth 5.5 Cr funded by agencies and 2 Cr by industries. Recently DST has awarded him a Center of Excellence on \u2018Agri Waste Utilisation\u2019 worth 12 Cr. He is a coordinator of Merino Innovation Center at VNIT and Advisor to Merino Group of Industries for innovation & Sustainability. Dr Sachin is a fellow of Maharashtra Academy of Science and recipient of Sri Ramkrishana Paramhansa Grant for translational research in Agriculture in 2023. He mentors his scholars\u2019 start ups: KRIATE, GROW Biorefinery, Sus-Tech Solutions, GreenSlate, and Dairy Mantra working in the broad area of Sustainability. He designed and commissioned a potato peel biorefinery plant which is the first of its kind globally. His process of on-farm paddy straw digestion to manure has successfully commercialized . He offers consultancy to industries to perform Life Cycle Assessment. Dr Sachin is amongst first few in India to start a credit course on Sustainability Engineering and Innovative Design for Chemical Engg undergrads. <\/td> <\/tr>\n <\/tbody>\n <\/table>\n \n \n \n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
