Brief Bio
Dr. Suresh Kumar Thappeta joined the Department of Civil Engineering in June 2022. He has 2 years and 3 months of postdoctoral research experience at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel, and 6 months at IISc Bengaluru. He received his Ph.D. in hydraulics of mountain streams from civil engineering, IIT Madras and M.Tech from IIT Guwahati. His research interests include experimental hydraulics, open channel flow, river engineering, flash flood flows, mountain streams, sediment transport, and urban flooding etc. He also has expertise in computational fluid dynamics and field studies.
