Tech program in Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing with an intake of 23 students. This program is started in the year 2006. The program is accredited by the NBA till 2025. Faculty members share their expertise with the students in the fields of Machine Design, computer-aided design and manufacturing, Robotics, Vibration, Product design, Industrial product development, advanced manufacturing, Finite element Methods, advanced mechanisms, etc. The laboratories for the program are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities like CNC Machine Centre, Robotics Lab, Computer-aided Manufacturing Lab, Simulation Lab, Machine Design Lab, etc. Students must complete all theory and practical courses in the first two semesters. For the third and fourth semesters, they must complete their dissertation work in various industries \/ National Labs \/ academic institutes giving them sufficient time for a comprehensive understanding of their project. Students are encouraged to undertake multi-disciplinary projects also. The dissertation work usually involves problem identification, literature survey, detailed analysis of the problem using modern techniques\/software, finding solutions, analyzing results, and report submission. The students need to acquire a minimum 52 credits to get the degree. The placement of the students is above 80% in 2023-24, and 100% in 2022-23. (Production and Industrial Engineering) was launched in 2023 after revamping the curriculum of M. Tech. (Industrial Engineering) existing earlier since 1989. The new PG program is designed to keep pace with newer technologies and megatrends. The program outcomes aim to equip students with the ability to independently research, write technical reports, and demonstrate mastery over specialized areas such as industrial and production engineering beyond the bachelor&#8217;s level. The courses are designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of various aspects of industrial and production engineering, including material management, ergonomics, production planning, smart manufacturing and Industry 4.0, marketing research and data analytics, production system modeling and simulation, quantitative techniques, supply chain management, reliability engineering, personnel management, smart manufacturing technologies, quality assurance, advanced manufacturing processes, data analytics, optimization techniques, industrial automation, and machine condition monitoring. The program is structured into courses offered in odd and even semesters, with a total of 52 credits required for completion. The program emphasizes hands-on learning through laboratory courses and practical exercises, as well as theoretical knowledge through lectures and seminars. Recently, an M.Tech. course in biomedical engineering was started at VNIT, and an ecosystem for start-ups in MedTech devices has been created.
