Faculty from VNIT Nagpur is in World’s Top 2% Scientist.

It is the proud moment for Visvsevaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) Nagpur and Vidarbha that Dr. Kailas Wasewar has been included in the world’s top 2% scientist in Chemical Engineering as per survey done by Stanford University. Dr. Kailas Wasewar has been working in Department of Chemical Engineering, VNIT Nagpur. His world rank is 369 (top 0.66%) and 18th rank in India in Chemical Engineering. The names of the scientist from across the world were included based on their citations, h-index, and number of published papers classified in Chemical Engineering and allied fields. Dr. Wasewar has more than 200 journal publications with google scholar citations: 5857, h-index: 47, and i-10 index: 123. He has guided 15 PhD students and 5 ongoing. He has three patents in his credit. He is BTech in Chemical Engineering from Laxminarayan Institute of Technology (LIT) Nagpur and Masters and PhD from Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT) Mumbai. He has also served at BITS Pilani and IIT Roorkee. He always respects ICT Mumbai for nurturing his passion in research. He is very grateful to Prof. P. M. Padole, Director VNIT Nagpur and Prof. D. R. Peshwe, Dean Faculty Welfare VNIT Nagpur for their constant support and blessings. He dedicated his credential to his students and VNIT. His research interest is in the area of Separation Process and also extended to other field including ionic liquids, process development and intensification, nanotechnology, biorefinary etc. He has completed research projects from DST, DBT, DRDO, IE(I) and industry. He has been actively involved in social activities through Dhruva Club of Prayas and Vijyana Bharati. He is the expert member of AICTE, NBA, Board of Studies of Department of Chemical Engineering of various universities, and member of Indian Institution of Chemical Engineers (IIChE); Institution of Engineers India (IE(I)); International Congress of Chemistry and Environment (FICCE); Indian Water Association; World Academy of Science and Engineering. He was the Executive Member of Uttarakhand and Maharashtra State Centre of Institution of Engineers India.
