The inaugural ceremony of the International Conference on Advanced Materials and Manufacturing for Sustainability (ICAMMS-2026) was successfully held at Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology Nagpur on March 12, 2026.
The event began with the traditional lamp lighting and Saraswati Vandana. The Hon’ble Chief Guest Dr. Anupam Agnihotri and Guest of Honour Dr. Joel Andersson were welcomed by Prof. Prem Lal Patel, Director of VNIT Nagpur and Patron of ICAMMS-2026.
The ceremony was coordinated by Dr. M. S. Kotambkar, while Dr. T. V. K. Gupta delivered the welcome address and overview of the conference. Prof. Atul Andhare highlighted the achievements of the Mechanical Engineering Department and the vision behind organizing the conference.
In their addresses, the dignitaries shared insights on advanced materials, sustainable manufacturing, and emerging technologies. Dr. Agnihotri emphasized expanding the conference theme “Energy, Efficiency, and Economy” by adding Education and Environment.
The conference souvenir was unveiled in the presence of representatives from academic partner institutions including Defence Institute of Advanced Technology, Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing Kancheepuram, National Institute of Technology Delhi, and Manipal Institute of Technology.
ICAMMS-2026 received an overwhelming response with nearly 400 research paper submissions, of which 185 papers were shortlisted for presentation in parallel technical sessions during the three-day conference (March 12–14). The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Arun Kumar Singh and the National Anthem.
