VNIT Nagpur and IIT Bombay Sign MoU for Early Induction into the M.Tech–Ph.D. Program

Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) Nagpur is delighted to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay for the Early Induction into the M.Tech–Ph.D. Program.

The MoU was signed by Prof. Prem Lal Patel, Director, VNIT Nagpur, and Prof. Shireesh B. Kedare, Director, IIT Bombay, in the presence of Prof. Vilas Kalamkar, Dean (Academics), VNIT, Prof. Sudarshan Kumar, Dean (International Relations), IIT Bombay, Prof. Suvarn S. Kulkarni, Dean (Academic Programmes), IIT Bombay, and Prof. Dilip Peshwe, Head, Metallurgical & Materials Engineering, VNIT Nagpur. Several Heads of Departments from both institutions were also present during the event.

The signing ceremony was preceded by a combined meeting between the Heads of Departments of both institutes, held earlier in the day. During these one-to-one interactions, HoDs discussed academic alignment, research collaboration avenues, and student progression pathways—further strengthening the framework for advancing this partnership.

Under the MoU, eligible VNIT students will have the opportunity to secure early induction into IIT Bombay’s esteemed M.Tech–Ph.D. programs, providing early access to advanced research, mentorship from leading faculty, and world-class academic resources.

This collaboration marks a major step forward in expanding research opportunities, fostering talent, and deepening academic cooperation between the two premier institutions.

Together, VNIT and IIT Bombay continue to nurture excellence, encourage innovation, and inspire future researchers.
