About The Department

Welcome to the Department of Physics,  the department is involved in teaching for UG and PG students of Engineering. M.Sc. (Physics) course started in 2012 lays thrust on fundamental physics and also on applied Physics courses. In M.Sc. course, the project work has a significant weightage which is expected to enhance the quality of project work and give motivation towards research.

The department has highly qualified and experienced faculty who guide UG, PG and Ph.D. students. The department has number of ongoing as well as completed R&D projects.  The areas of research include Solid State Ionics, Nanomaterials, Functional Glasses and Glass Ceramics, Electroceramics, Magnetic materials, Polymers, Computational Physics, Photovoltaics, sensors, supercapacitors & optoelectronic devices, Theoretical Physics – Quantum Computing, Quantum Information Theory and Quantum Entanglement, Mathematical Physics, Chaos and Nonlinear Dynamics, Many-Body Condensed Matter Physics. The department has sophisticated instrumentation facilities for synthesis, characterization & computing applications.
