Report on One Day Online Orientation Workshop for UBA PI Coordinators
A One Day Online Orientation Workshop for UBA PI Coordinators was organized on 1stApril 2025 by the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Committee e, Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology in which around 90 participants from 65 higher educational institutes from different districts of Nagpur region participated.
Objectives of the Orientation Workshop :
The objective of this workshop was to Effective Strategy for working in the villages: Challenges and opportunities for the Participating Institute Coordinators identify the problems of the villages adopted by them and draft effective project proposals with the help of the expert speakers.
Inaugural Ceremony
The inauguration was held in the Board Room at 4.00 PM. The Program was inaugurated at the hands of Hon’ble Director Prof. Premlal Patel as Chief Guest. Dr. Ratnesh Kumar also chaired the dais, Special Guest Speaker was Shri Vaibhavji Surange, All India Head Vanavasi Kalyan Ashram eminent Speaker to address the gathering available on-line. Dr. Bhooshan Rajpathak, RCI Coordinator, VNIT gave the introductory remarks and briefed the PI Coordinators about the Annual Report of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan. After his opening remark Director of the Institute Prof. Premlal Patel addressed the gathering. He emphasized the role of HEIs in rural development not only through technology transfer but each individual of village should feel ready to be self-motivation by way of working at the village itself. Mrs. Vijaya Deshmukh conducted the proceedings of the inaugural function. Online Technical details were taken care by Prof Punit Kumar Bhavsar. Shri Amit Bhure, assisted in all technical and non-technical preparations for the Orientation program.
Online Session by Shri Vaibhavji Surange
In his online presentation he briefed the PI Coordinators about Unnat Bharat Abhiyan which has a pan-India network of Higher Education Institutions and villages. He also explained the organizational structure of UBA and Rural immersion process. He stressed the importance of carrying our research in village to identify the challenges and issues faced by the rural people and offe r technological solutions to the problems. PIs should establish a proper communication with RCI and also carry out activities assigned to them from time to time.
In his keynote address, Shri Vaibhav Ji said that the tribal community resides in large numbers at the village level in Vidarbha. Keeping these things in mind, we need to practice their identity which is also an integral part of an advanced India. We need to work by knowing the needs of the villagers and work should be done by advancing the traditional knowledge of the tribal community which has been the vision of an advanced India. The Advanced India campaign is inspired by the vision of bringing about transformational changes in the rural development processes by taking advantage of knowledge institutions, so that it can help in building the structure of an inclusive India and bring about a paradigm shift in the educational and research programs of the country.
