• Security: Residents are responsible for their belongings and should ensure their room doors and windows are secure.
  • Hint: Do not purchase locks from the common shop. It has been seen that locks get open by other lock keys belongs to same shop.
• Room changes: Residents cannot change allotted room without written permission from the hostel authority.
• Leave Register: If resident is leaving to their home or outside VNIT for few days then he/she need to do entry in hostel leave register, it is available at security desk at respective hostel entrance.
• First Aid Box: Each hostel has first aid box at security desk near the entrance of the hostel.
• Mess Off: If student is not present in VNIT for long period then he/she can avail mess off facility (mess charges will be reduced) by filling the respective Mess off form. It is available at https://vnit.ac.in/section/hostel/notices/
• Counselors: Students can meet VNIT counselors/psychiatrist at their schedule time whenever need arise. The visiting timings of various specialists at VNIT health center is displayed at each hostel entrance and at the health center.
• Health center: Students can avail medical facility available at VNIT health center.
• Ambulance: In case of emergency, student can opt 24×7 VNIT Ambulance service by calling its number. The phone number is available at security desk of each hostel.
• Bicycle: If student has bicycle then he/she should label it uniquely to avoid accidently picking others bicycle. Use a unique and distinctive lock to secure your bicycle.
• Hostel Council: Every resident should know their hostel council members. The list will be at security desk. For any hostel related issue, resident can approach respective council member or hostel supervisor or warden.
• Tips: Residents can’t offer tips, rewards, or gifts to hostel workers.
• Router: Residents should not use router on the hostel LAN, otherwise they will face fine as per the code of conduct category II, serial no. 6.
• Money and Valuables: The residents are advised not to keep huge money (in cash) and valuables in your room. However, it is your responsibility for the security of your own belongings.
