Call for Special Sessions

The CVIP 2022 organizing team invites professionals in the area of image processing, computer vision in robotics, artificial intelligence in remote sensing, medical signal and image analysis and other allied areas of computer vision and pattern recognition to propose special sessions to be held at CVIP 2022 in VNIT Nagpur, India.

Special sessions provide the opportunity to focus in detail on particular emerging topics, which are not reflected in the list of conference tracks or represent a specific working field where researchers would like to meet and discuss advances.

Proposal Content

If you intend to propose and organize a special session for CVIP 2022, please send the proposal using the template to the special session chairs, and including the following information:

  1. A title of the Special Session and name of organizers.
  2. Brief description of the session (approx. 250 words), with the specific reason on why this is an interesting and significant topic.
  3. The name and contact information of organizers (multi-nationals preferred and multi-institutional mandatory), who are willing to promote and organize a sufficient number of quality submissions to the special session. Please also mention the profiles of the organizers.
  4. A list of potential authors and their affiliations.
  5. A list of potential national and international reviewers and their affiliations (10 minimum).
  6. The sponsoring technical committee (if any).
  7. An individual can be (co-)organizer of maximum TWO Special Sessions.

Organization of Special Sessions

Once special session(s) approved, it is the prime responsibility of the organizers to publicize the Special Session among researchers and practitioners in the field and attract a sufficient number of good quality papers.

Papers submitted to special session(s) will undergo the same review process as regular papers. The organizers of the respective special session are responsible to organize and complete the review process, assuring at least three reviews per paper to maintain the CVIP-quality standards. This includes selection of reviewers from their peers. Before starting the review process, organizers must explicitly declare papers which present a conflict of interest for them.

During the review process, Special Session Organizers must take into account that:

  • An individual cannot be (co‐)author of more than two papers submitted to the same Special Session.
  • Papers from organizers cannot exceed 60% of the contents of the Special Session.

A minimum of 6 accepted and registered papers with authors from at least 3 independent institutions (other than organizers institutions) is required for each session. If a session has too few papers, accepted papers will be allocated to regular sessions wherever possible. Any final decision will be taken by the CVIP 2022 Chair Committee.

Organizers (01) of a successful Special Session will get a free registration for every 6 papers accepted and registered to the Special Session and finally included in the program.
