• The Department is housed in an independent building, housing the office, laboratories, classrooms, workshop, seminar room, etc.
• The department is also allotted faculty cabins and laboratories housed in state-of-the-art facilities in the New Academic block
• The total area available is about 1450 square meters with about 50% space for laboratories, 10% for classrooms, and the remaining for various facilities.
• The complete physical infrastructure is organized into laboratories and other facilities.
• The department is allotted a classroom in the newly built classroom complex. 

The laboratories include

1. Mine Environmental Engineering
2. Rock Mechanics and Ground Control,
3. Mine Surveying,
4. Mining Machinery Laboratories
5. Mine System Laboratory
6. Excavation Engineering Laboratory.

• Reasonably good laboratory facilities are available for undergraduate and PG programs as well as for research purposes in the areas of strata control, blasting, rock mechanics, air, water and noise pollution and mine ventilation.
• The department also has its own computational facilities.
