MoU Signing VNIT & TSUYO Manufacturing

VNIT and TSUYO Manufacturing, Greater Noida signed MoU for Joint Research and Manufacturing for Rare-Earth Magnet Free Motors for Electric Vehicles.

On April 16, 2025, VNIT Nagpur and TSUYO Manufacturing Private Limited, signed MoU to carryout extended joint research and Manufacturing of the Rare-earth Magnet Free Synchronous Motors. MoU is signed by Prof. P.L. Patel, Director VNIT and Mr. Vijay Kumar, CEO of TSUYO Manufacturing. TSUYO and VNIT is actively associated in working for the Motor and Motor controllers used for the various segment of Passenger to Commercial Electric Vehicles. Motor developed at VNIT Nagpur is competitive with the existing motors and cheaper. Event of MoU signing was attended by Prof. B.S. Umre, Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering and the Faculty Members working together from Electrical, Mechanical and Metallurgy & Materials Engineering. Electrical Department is working for the design and development of next generation rare-earth Magnet Free Synchronous Motor. Whereas Mechanical and Metallurgy Department are working for the Materials required and cooling of the Motors in association with TSUYO. Prof. Y.B. Katpatal, explained the association. During the MoU signing Mr. Vijay explained the success stories with VNIT for the different projects of Electric Vehicles and their commitment to ensure the industry grade development of motors and motor controllers for the manufacturing and commercialisation. Dr. Ritesh Keshri, Coordinator of Centre for Advanced Mobility, briefed how TSUYO and VNIT is collaborating at institute level. Director VNIT explained the focused commitment of VNIT Nagpur in association with industry partners towards the National eMobility Program for indigenous development of the higher TRL prototypes bridging the gap between Industry and academia.
