Waste-to-Wealth | Building a Sustainable Future ♻️

As part of the Swachhata Hi Sewa (SHS) Campaign 2026, VNIT Nagpur organised an awareness talk on “Waste-to-Wealth and Sustainable Waste Management” on 29 September 2026.

🎙️ The session was delivered by Mr. Ankiit U. Motghare, Senior Project Engineer, Research & Development, Keva SusBDe (Keva Green Energy), Bhandewadi Dumping Yard, Nagpur.

👥 80+ students, faculty and staff enthusiastically participated in the programme.

The session highlighted how everyday waste can be transformed into valuable resources. Keva Green Energy processes around 1,200 tonnes of Nagpur municipal solid waste per day using dry fermentation technology, producing approximately:

28 tonnes of CBG/day
120 tonnes of compost/day
480 tonnes of RDF/day

🌱 “Waste is a resource in the wrong place.” The session emphasised that source segregation can transform waste into energy, fertiliser and a cleaner city, reinforcing the importance of sustainable waste management and responsible waste practices.

VNIT Nagpur continues to promote awareness, sustainability and responsible environmental practices among its campus community.
